Let's create a compute instance:
Step 1: Login with your username and password.
Step 2: From the left navigation menu, select Compute.
Step 3: From the scroll-down menu, select Instances.
Step 4: Click on Launch Instance.
Step 5: Now, enter the instance details and hit Next.
Step 6: Now, enter the Volume size and select Yes/No whether you want to delete the volume on deleting the instance.
Step 7: Scroll down, select your specifications, and hit Next.
Step 8: Now, select the size for the compute, memory, and storage capacity.
Step 9: Select the Security groups from the Left navigation menu and choose the security group. (You can also create a security group. Click here to view how to create a security group.)
Step 10: Similarly, select Key-Pair and click on Launch Instance (If there is no Key Pair available, click here to view how to create a key pair.)
